Data Science has helped me think from a data perspective. I need to return my focus to programming & calculus.

Applying Data science principles to work projects is helping me to understand the necessity of Data to produce working knowledge. Without data, we're chasing unverifiable theories. I'm asking Data science based questions at work, which makes me sound very outcome oriented.

Also, I've created 2 additional Stickk challenges regarding building muscle by lifting and cutting fat by calorie management and My Fitness Pal app.

Whether work or weight, the key point is that the data is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Without the data, there is no understanding.

Data = truth of outcome and whether or not an adjustment is needed

The data that I witnessed today was that Walker England, my co-worker, has deposited over $85k in his trading account but lost over $65k since 2007. The data shows that he struggles, regardless of his smug attitude about scalping and winning like everyone else. Also, it goes to show the need even further for an algorithm.

I looked over my trading account as well and concluded that the key is to expect 65% of my trades to end up in small losses, i.e. 1-2% with a outlier winning trades that allow the account to see those big wins. They may only happen once -three times a quarter but you've got to be in the water to catch the wave.

An algorithm will allow the losses to remain small while alpha generation is consistently honed.
