Looked like my weight had stabilised and after a good start it was going to get stuck. But steady clean eating helped by being home this week has seen a pound shed this week. Quite a relief.

Getting a little tired of daily readings, partly because with associated exercises added they're taking up time and slowing the start to my day. So this weekend I have split one reading across two days, and have delayed one of the more time consuming exercises from the week to later. Too much work and domestic chores to do, but am keeping on my to do list for a day when pressure has eased up. Will be before I get to end of this phase. I commit to that.

A week away from home, reduced access to a kitchen and weighing at a different time of day. I don't know which if any of these elements have created a weight increase. Things will be clearer tomorrow am when I see if I'm back at last week's level or if there has been a slip. Still I'm under my overall target so on track.

I have read a chapter a day of the Julia Cameron book everyday except today. Some don't apply, some had exercises I was unable to do away from home. So today is one of my leeway days, the first one I have taken. And now I'm home, I'll complete any outstanding daily exercises and confirm I'm up to date next week.

My routine has been disrupted this week, with near daily visits to hospital to be with a close relative - driving 3hrs round trip and meal times varying wildly. Plus a friend has been staying, so I ate out most days. I'm relieved that despite this I met this week's goal. I've read a chapter each day from the Writing Diet. Keeping a good journal has been tricky because of the disruption, but that improved once my guest left.

This first report covers 12 days. I've read one chapter from the Julia Cameron book and completed the associated writing exercise each day. That's 12 chapters to date. They really help identify and process my eating patterns.

I'm please and relieved this first week has been successful.
