First week without sugar and so far so good. |

Ok, so I am going to make a pivot, I have not drunk any alcohol for 3 months and formed some really good habits about not needing to drink when once I found it hard to resist i.e. weekends and social occasions. However, despite feeling fairly healthy this has not had a dramatic effect on my waste line and I think this might be because I have compensated the lack of alcohol with more sugary treat foods. What I plan to do for the remaining 3 months of this challenge is remove all sugar from my diet, but I am going to allow myself the odd glass of wine now and again if out and about. This does not mean that I am going to buy alcohol for consumption at home at the weekends, but if I am invited to dinner and the host offers me a drink then I will consume at a very modest level. Let's see if I can shift that wodge but cutting the puddings, chocolates and biscuits! |

Still pretty good, though on Friday night I had a craving for a glass of Red wine, but that soon passed. |

First major challenge with my Dad and Step-mother visiting for the weekend. Normally this would include a drink, and when Dad turned up and said let's pop out for a bottle of wine this was probably the first time this year that I have felt like I really wanted a drink. But it was more that I didn't want to miss out to be honest, though the glass of wine in my step-mum's hand whilst we were eating a greasy Chinese takeaway on Saturday night did stir some juices for me. However, resist it I did, and going for a long run on Sunday morning without a fuzzy head was all the better! |
