joshmrallen commits to:
I commit to spend 12 hours per weekday applying to and interviewing for jobs. Applying for jobs includes researching companies, updating my resume, filling out applications, and going to interviews.
I'll start at 6am, eat meals while I work, and stop at 6pm, Monday through Friday. Weekends will be open for optional extra work, networking, or hobbies/interests/family/fun.

Spoke to zipdrug this afternoon and got an unofficial promise of an offer. They just have to go through their process. Had to respond to diligencevault about status of my other offers. Had to reschedule with one who was scheduled today for a phone interview because she got busy. Scheduled one for Monday with a cool company that my mentor highly recommends. I also emailed with one who wants to schedule a phone interview for next week. Also scheduled the below for next week: Call with a Sales & Marketing firm: Full day Shadow Interview 9-5pm Wednesday Spoke to Jackie Full day shadow-interview! Very interesting. And all day CreativeLive is broadcasting The Art of Networking class for free in 5-hour loops, so I definitely took advantage and went through the entire class, from noon to 4:30pm. |

Today, I went to a bunch of networking events. In the morning, I had to iron out my shirt, because the in-person interview I had specified business formal. There was an event from 9-2pm, then I hung out at a friend's place for lunch until my interview at 3:30pm. It went ok, they said they'll let me know by tomorrow afternoon. Fast business. Next, I went to the library where I read a bit while waiting for the next networking event to begin at 5:30. Met some great people, got their cards, saw my mentor, and then left to pick up my wife from her wife and we went home together finally at about 8pm. All in a day's work! |

Today was a busy day! Had to leave at around 8:30-ish. Morning was spent preparing and eating a nice, filling breakfast to hold me over. I met with the CEO, the strategy person, and even the executive assistant! I even did some role-playing with the CEO who loved it and said it was exactly what he was looking for! Overall the meeting took about an hour and a half and then I headed over to the area where my next interview was. Had a nice lunch and hung out in a library for a bit. The next interview also went well. Spoke to 1 manager and a VP of Business Development who both said they were looking for a customer success type position to take care of the customer base and make sure they renew. The company's pretty young though it was started as a consulting firm back in '92. Everyone is between 25-35, with the 40+ being executives/directors. Left there at about 3pm or so and took about 1.5 hours to get home where I made some food and followed up with everyone I spoke to today, saying thanks. Heard back from one of the companies I interviewed at last week who said no; but that's ok, the first one this morning is very promising. Also another one, she accepted my connection on LinkedIn which I initiated after our call on Monday. I like the sound of their position because it's much more tech related and I'd learn a huge amount. And the manager is a mechanical engineer which is cool. Good day, busy day, tired. |

Starting up! Had one phone interview today and scheduled 1 more for tomorrow, and 1 for Thursday. That's 3 in-person interviews this week! woo! |
