You decide how much weight you want to lose and in what time frame. Please
note that for health reasons, stickK does not allow you to contractually
obligate yourself to lose more than 2 lbs per week. But if you just happen
to lose more than that, good for you!
The example below shows a 20-lb weight loss target over 10 weeks, which
is a 2-lb weekly weight loss target.

At the end of each week, weigh yourself. If your weight falls at or above
the line, you’ll have to lose at least 2 lbs the next week, in order
to file a report claiming success. If your weight falls below the line,
the next week you’ll just have to lose enough weight to stay at
or below the line, in order to report success. (Just don’t go crazy
celebrating with a box of cookies!)
One-Shot: Using this type of contract, select a specific
date by which you would like to be smoke-free. From now until that date,
you should do whatever you need to do to prepare for a smoke-free life.
(i.e.: reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke or start using a nicotine
patch). Your success or failure will be measured by whether or not you
have smoked a cigarette within 72 hours of the contract end-date. Once
you are successful with this commitment, we recommend creating an Ongoing
Quit Smoking Contract.
On-going: You commit to not smoking at all for a specific
number of weeks. At the end of each week, if you didn’t smoke AT
All that week, you file a success report. If you caved and snuck even
just one little puff, then you failed.
You commit to exercising a specific number of days per week, for a designated
duration. After each week, if you exercised as often as you were supposed
to, you report success. If you didn’t, put down the remote, get
off the couch, and report that you failed.
One-shot: This feature is for a one-time goal to be completed
by a certain date. Maybe you want to clean out the garage on Saturday.
Or write your 8 page history paper by Sunday. You report once at the end
of the commitment whether or not you have accomplished the goal. Financial
stakes, if designated, are on the line at the end of the commitment date.
On-going: This feature is for an on-going commitment.
For example, you can promise to write 3 pages of your novel or thesis
paper each week. Or you can commit to completing a weekly list of household
chores. Or call Grandma every Sunday. At the end of each week, if you
met your goal, you file a success report. If you didn’t, you report
that you failed. Financial stakes, if designated, are on the line each
week.
