I have done pushups and situps every other day while cutting down on sugar.

It's that time of the year again when everyone make a mad scramble to the gym, tries their best to interact with their family more, and putting on the patch to quit smoking. I've never been one to ambitiously try to achieve a goal I know I won't achieve, but this year I'm changing my philosophy.

I've been a fan of SURVIVOR since the very first episode and haven't missed a single one in all 25 seasons. I've posted on internet Survivor forums discussing the show, started my own fan fiction in which I pit past Survivors against each other, and spend hours upon hours analyzing the strategies of the players.

Upon having a talk with one of my best friends, we discussed the possibility of my applying for the show, to which it clicked in my head in a way I had never thought of before. My countless hours spent on analyzing the show had made me a bit of an expert and I determined that if given the opportunity, I could get on the show and succeed. Despite this knowledge, there is a physical side to Survivor that I am undoubtedly unprepared for at the moment. I'm not physically fat but I'm also not in shape to compete with my fellow castaways in Immunity and Reward Challenges. My desire for sweets and salts is something I would crave on the island. For this reason, I am making it my goal to get in shape and apply for Survivor next year. In addition to being more active in social situations, I will exercise 3 days a week, alternating, and limit my sugars to every other day. In this way, I will train myself for the draining physical nature of the show and hopefully be a healthier, happier person. Through this process, I will read 3 books to prepare me: The Art of War, The Survivor Manual, and The Psychology of Survivor. This will be a grueling process but I desperately want to participate in Survivor, and this goal will drive me.
