| I missed doing my report for the week of 27Jan to 3 Feb. I was not successful during that week. I missed two nights of flossing my teeth but do not have a justified reason for not doing it. I just did not think about it (one night I did not even brush my teeth at all before going to bed). | |

| I flossed 6 of 7 days this past week. The one day that I missed I was ill and did not shower, eat, bath or brush my teeth at all that day. I did floss and brush early the next morning. | |

| I had a serious car accident in January 2000. All but 2 of my teeth were knocked out or damaged. four were able to be wired back into my jaw. Everything else had to be replaced by caps, crowns, or porcelain implants. The areas with the porcelain implements is very vulnerable to plaque build up. The best way to take care of teeth and gums and prevent gum disease is by flossing. However because porcelain dental fittings tend to sit tighter than regular teeth flossing can be a challenge. I have torn floss, gotten it stuck between teeth, stredded floss so that little tiny fibers are left behind. I also hate the feel of flossing - it's a sensory thing I think. So the challenge becomes doing something that is vital to my health and keeping my teeth for as long as possible before getting bridges and dentures (which will happen eventually, I'm just not ready for it to happen at 41) and doing something that is frustrating, uncomfortable, and irritating. I know I need to do it, I just cannot stand to do it. | |
