Increase Physical Activity and Heal... Star this Commitment
Week 5 of 5

jrhearne commits to:
I commit to increase my physical activity by exercising 3 times a week for the next 5 weeks. I will record the number of times I worked out, the duration of my workouts, and what activity or muscle group that I focused on that day by entering them into an Excel document. I define exercising as physical movement which gets my heart above 95 bpm which may include cardio activities such as running on the treadmill/outside or working on the elliptical. Other activities will include weighted squats

This week was my fifth successful week! I will be able to purchase a new pair of running shoes for meeting my goal as well as a small box of my favorite chocolates. I feel really accomplished for being able to meet both of my goals. I am thinking about creating a new contract to continue these goals and maybe to increase them and make them more difficult. Contracting has really helped me to keep track of my goals.

This week it was much easier to eat healthy as I was still recovering from being sick. My first two workouts this week were very hard for me with still having a residual cold but I was able to get through them. I ran outside for the first time in a year yesterday for 60 minutes and it was amazing! I did not have any violations for healthy eating this week so I will be rewarding myself with a candy bar just in time for Easter week!

This week was a bit rough in terms of working out as I did get sick with the cold/flu. I was able to get to the gym 3 times this week, it was not easy. However, I want new running shoes extremely bad so after the worst of my sickness passed I made sure to get to the gym. My healthy eating went great this week. I did meet my 80% criterion for this week. My only minor violation was chocolate milk that I had post-workout because of studies proving how good it was for replenishing your muscles. A rough week for me but was still able to stick to my commitment!

This week went really well for me for both of my goals! I was able to work out three times this week and had two longer workouts that usual but they went awesome. I also did not have any food that violates my contract which make me really proud of myself! Since I did meet criteria for this week I am one week closer to getting a new pair of Nikes (provided I stay on course) and am also on my way to a box of my favorite chocolates! I am enjoying this process because it is making me keep constant track of what I am eating and it also keeps me looking at nutrition labels not just for sugar but other facts. This is helping me get a kick start on becoming healthier.
