I got back on track! I didn't let last weeks failure get me down, and tonight I get to reward myself with some new pants! While I don't get my SPA DAY for this assigment, I'm thinking of continuing the contract beyond this 5 week period, and trying for it again. I'm also thinking of adding an anti-charity as a "stick" this time, which I think will be a stronger motivator for me than the "carrots" I wrote about in my contract.

I missed a meditation this past week, which means that I don't get my SPA DAY. I am curious to see how this effects my overall motivation. I will still be able to work towards my nightly and weekly rewards, though. While I don't always utilize these smaller rewards maybe they will be more motivating now that the SPA day is out of the running. We'll see...

Strangely enough, I haven't been utilizing the rewards that I indicated in my behavior contract even though I was very excited about them in the beginning. My health has not been wonderful, and I was hoping that my weekly reward of going shopping or going on a date with my husband would motivate me to get out of the house. It hasn't really, but that's okay. I also haven't wanted the chocolate every night. However, I've still been successful in my program and that's what's important. The big motivator continues to be my frequency chart, and I'm still looking forward to the SPA DAY.

This passed week was a little more difficult as I felt like I didn't have enough time to meditate. This is ridiculous as I only committed to 15 minutes twice a day, but it can still be difficult to take that time for myself when there's so much to do (always). It's very easy to slip out of my meditation routine, but one missed meditation turns into two and so on...and I'm not going to let that happen this time! My frequency chart still acts as a powerful motivator. I also feel better (more rested and relaxed) after I meditate so the act of meditating is reinforcing in and of itself. Plus I'm really looking forward to the SPA DAY that I earn if I am 100% successful. I have my eye on the prize.
