Commitment Journal what's this?

It seems that even if I STICK to eating only really healthy, awesome, vegan food, I still need to keep an eye on portion sizes if I want to fit into my skinny jeans. I would like to keep in mind, going forward, that the second bite (and the nineteenth bite) tastes just the same as the first.

Today at the grocery store I stopped myself before buying some treats for the kids which I recognized might be irresistible to me.

I suspect I should try setting out the food I'm going to eat at the beginning of the meal, as if I were in a restaurant, and only eating that which I served myself.

Arrrgh - bad habits have reared their ugly heads...David Kessler is right about how it takes so long to replace the old neural circuitry and that you need to form NEW habits to replace the old ones. OK - back on the horse this week!!

It was easier this week because I was anticipating being bikini clad in Hawaii on vacation. Yay!

Well like my parents said growing up, when you fall off the horse, you get right back on. :) Doing great so far. This is just a minor bump in the road.

So now my goal is to MAKE THE COST OF THIS WEEK WORTH IT. By which I mean, if this week is costing me $60 (even though it's going toward a lovely cause, my dear, one and only, wonderful cousin), then I want to at least prove to myself that I CAN OVERCOME MINDLESS EATING and bring myself back around gently to my new and wonderful habits of paying attention to what my hands are putting into my mouth. I can do this.

Arrrrgh! I guess I was getting a bit cocky...Last night was an Eating Festival, for no apparent reason other than maybe me not getting enough sleep a couple nights ago and my husband being out of town this week...

I feel like I'm totally back on track (at last) after the holidays. Now my just-right jeans from the fall are looking pretty loose. Yay!

I love that feeling! Congrats! Keep up the good work.
