Midsummer Review of Progress on StickK Goals for Chad’s Training (-A-) Commitment statement in StickK (6/17/2018 entry): 6-17-2018 *full statement of the commitment; stickK website cut off the last part of the commitment statement* Beginning Monday, June 18, 2018 (and ending Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018), for 11 weeks I commit to: Part A: taking responsibility to insure that my dog Chad gets 10 minutes daily, 4 days per week (or 40 minutes per week total-does not necessarily have to be on four separate days) of training focusing on 1) preparing to go outside (so Chad does not have to be chased down); 2) coming when called; 3) not moving away when someone reaches to pick him up; 4) improved toilet training (including urination and pooping). If I don't do all of the 40 minutes training each week, I'll make sure Charles or Jennifer make up whatever minutes I don't personally do myself. Part B: by or before the start of Week 4 of this stickK commitment on Monday, July 9, arranging for Chad to have a 1-day (overnight) boarding experience at PetSmart or a similar establishment. Part C: completing, with Charles and Jennifer, a midsummer review of progress on this commitment by the start of Week 7 on Monday, July 30; and an end-of-summer review of progress by the end of Week 11 on Sunday, Sept. 2. (-B-) Dates of work on the midsummer review of progress: Friday, Aug. 3; and Monday, Aug. 20 (-C-) Progress review: • Part A (40 minutes of training each week between June 18 and Sept. 2): as of Monday, Aug. 20, 6 successful weeks and 2 unsuccessful weeks • Part B (overnight boarding): deadline revised from July 9 to Sept. 1 • Specific training goals (see June 18 stickK entry): Training foci. 1)Preparing to go outside - striving for 90%; currently 60%--90% or better by 8/20/2018 2)Coming when called - striving for 90%; currently 40%--in training, 80% by 8/20 3)Reaching - striving for 75%; currently 5%--60% by 8/20 4)Toilet training - (urination) striving for 90%; currently 75%--85% by 8/20 (Pooping) striving for 50%; currently 2%--still 2% by 8/20/2018 • Special notes: 1) Because of poor success at “coming when called” outside the house, plan to review the special “down” (?) emergency command in the recently purchased “Puppies for Dummies” book 2) To improve toilet training, plan to review “Puppies for Dummies” book; may need to choose between focus on toileting inside the house with puppy pads or toileting outside the house. ---END--- |
