Last week was, all-in-all good on the financial front. I received refunds into my bank, on a couple of pairs of boots, and then I ordered another pair, and they were not right when they arrived, so they’re now going back for a refund so my
frivolous spend is really none at the moment.

My business website renewal is due now and pending on my credit card. My credit card is looking heavy, but I am claiming back nearly £300 form Heritage to pay for their website hosting, so it looks worse than it is.

I’m due to receive the last payment from World Vision this week (fingers crossed as they’re going through a reshuffle). If it’s not arrived by the end of the week I can contact Liz who hired me and I’m meeting for lunch on Thursday anyway.

So here are my scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 100% (A)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 90% (B+)
(*This is where I've sent an invoice/asked for payment)
Therefore, I award myself the following Score/Grade: 97% (B+)

Mid July and all is well so far. I think I may be starting to suffer a bit with burn-out as I really am struggling to get enthused about my job at the moment. Perhaps I just need to feel better about myself though. I’m going to make sure I start to look after myself. New week, new intentions and all that.

My spend levels have started to reduce again. I bought 2 pairs of boots which don’t fit so they’re going back but, apart from that, I haven’t been spending much.

I’m waiting for the final payment from World Vision but I’m not expecting that until the 30th July. I do have to invoice a couple of people for my work, but I need to get past this week’s massive deadline of entering some Dealers into this year’s Print IT Awards, first, which I will get a bit of money for. I have got some more new business in so that should bring in a monthly sum if it works out. The band is busy throughout July and August so that all helps the holiday fund and to pay for the renewal of the PLI Insurance.

So here are my scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 90% (B+)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 90% (B+)
(*This is where I've sent an invoice/asked for payment)
Therefore, I award myself the following Score/Grade: 93% (B)

I’ve discovered that World Vision have suffered a catastrophic re-shuffle with people moving and losing their jobs so the contracts I had for the Unlock Literacy programme has been cancelled. I suspected something was afoot when I was asked to get my invoice in for the CUP Tool even though it wasn’t due to finish until September. I can’t say I’m unhappy though (although I would have earned an extra £8k for the UL contract). The levels of stress would have been immense so it’s probably a really good thing on the mental health front and will also free me up to work on other projects that have so far been shelved as I haven’t had time.

On the other hand, I have been completely and utterly frivolous with clothes and again have bought things that don’t suit me when I get them home/they arrive. I should fail myself here and now but, in a bid to not be so hard on myself I have given myself a low score but everything else is ok.

My current account is in a strong position, my work account is looking healthy, and I even donated a large chunk to Terry and our recent holiday.

My credit card bill is high this month as I spent quite a lot on myself for the holiday but, as Terry said, I rarely spend much on myself these days so with a decent June I could afford to splash out a little.

I’m waiting for people to pay me – but that’s natural with the holiday season in full flow. The Genius-in and SES payments I was waiting for from June came through so that worked well.

So here are my scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 40% (C-)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 80% (B)
(*This is where I've sent an invoice/asked for payment)
Therefore, I award myself the following Score/Grade: 73% (B-) Just scraped in a pass
