Exciting news! This week’s research has been eye-opening, yet confirming my thoughts on the ‘Why?!’ question behind starting my blog. At first it seems that this is an external goal, i.e. as in educating other people on chiropractic, however, in a podcast for the Tim Ferriss show Maria Popova justly states that writing a blog for somebody else will never last. It needs to be for you, you don’t do research just to share those facts with other people. You do research to enhance (or gain) understanding of that what interests YOU and your conclusion, or your view, or your point of view, that’s what’ll be interesting for other people to read. As they can do the same research as you, so why ‘just’ repeat what others have said previously. To dive deep into the rich philosophy of chiropractic ‘just’ to educate people on health and well-being is not the purpose of this blog. I will be writing for myself. The research will be based on MY hypotheses and the closing questions are those to stimulate MY intellectual process. Maria is the founder of an incredible blog called ‘Brainpickings’. This will certainly be a blog that I’ll be following over the next couple of months to get inspired. It will be very interesting to observe what sorts of topics she dives into as she mentioned in the podcast that she doesn’t believe in the term (or concept of) ‘content’. Her simple and straight question was: “Who does ever write content for him/herself?” Something to think about next week will be how to incorporate your target audience without aiming to write for them. How much introduction do people need to the chiropractic philosophy without boring them (or better myself) and how little can I provide without losing them. I’ve thought of some practical stuff as well. The order of releasing the first blog posts including an about page and an introductory blog post. It’s very exciting to think about all those things, especially now that the seminar series is applied for and first flights are booked to Frankfurt, Germany to start digging deeper and deeper in the section of chiropractic that provides the ‘Why?!’ to are practice. Not all unimportant if you’d ask me! ;) Till next week!

Hi guys! This week has been focussed the very basics of content planning. Basically, what do I want to write about and where do I get my information from. The philosophy of chiropractic is abundant in its texts which is good as this allows me to read as much as I possibly can, however, due to time restraints a selection should be made to be as time efficient but content effective as possible. Therefore, I am committing to a seminar series that is solely focussing on the philosophy and how to apply this to life, health and chiropractic practice. This automatically got me, as a philosophy without application is nothing. That's what this blog will be about, how to look at life through chiropractic lenses (or even better, eyes). Keeping in mind though, that most of my reader will have never heard of the chiropractic principles and the 'big idea'. Meaning that it has to be written for the lay-person, but still keeping it interesting to the chiropractors that I am targetting for as well. The seminar series will be a big financial commitment as well, but I am serious about this, so let's do it!! Till next week.
