This week I did accomplish my goal, however, I did run into an issue of clarification. I did mention in my contract that if the weather did not permit, then I would not have to uphold my dog walking duties for that morning. However, when I woke up last Tuesday morning, it was POURING outside. I did not walk my dog that morning, but I did walk him later in the day. My referee (fiance) and I went back and fourth on whether or not this meant that I broke the contract for the week. I said I did not, but he wasn't so sure. He decided to agree with me (because he knows better) and I now know I have to extra explicit when I write my contracts. It is necessary to think of emergencies or situations where the contract would not be broken if the criteria was not met, like the weather incident. Also, my referee is not keeping up his end of the contract, as I am still waiting for my bottle of wine. I can see how not rewarding my students in an immediate or timely manner can have an effect on effort. I was less motivated this week because I don't think my referee is going to keep his end of the contract.

Another successful week of commitment! This week I did battle a stomach virus, in which I did not walk my dog that morning, but I did not attend work that day either, therefore keeping up the terms of the contract. I have finally earned a bottle of wine from my fiance, but we will see if he holds up his end of the bargain as well! I am enjoying my walks in the morning, and our pup seems to be enjoying them as well. He wakes up 10 minutes before my alarm each morning now and tries to wake me up by nudging his big nose in my face. I will try to take a picture and post it here, so others can witness. He is definitely used to this routine now, which might be tough to break in the summer months when I no longer have to wake up at 6:00 AM for his walk to make it to work in time.
