Except for the first week (6/7), it's been 7/7.
During the first week, on Saturday, the cat Thatti bellam who used
to visit us now and then and ask us for food was killed by stray dogs. I had begun practicing when I heard a dog screaming and other dogs barking, so I went to check. They were attacking something, it was dark so I couldn't see what. Once we managed to chase them away, we found it was a cat that looked like Thatti, she was barely alive, we couldn't save her. I really hoped it wasn't Thatti, I was especially worried since I had found out just a week ago that she had kittens. I couldn't go back to practising after that.
Over the next few days, when the kittens showed up, but without their mother, it became clear that it really was Thatti that had been killed. It could've been worse, the kittens could've been younger. Even though I had seen her nursing them just a week before she died, I had also seen them climb trees and at least one of them eating solid food with their mother. For now, they seem healthy and very playful. They usually sleep behind the grill in the neighbour's house or on the wall between our houses. They eat at our house sometimes, I know my neighbour also feeds them, I think they might have other human friends too, I'm not sure. But I know their dad (I think he's their dad) visits many houses. He shows up once in a while. Doesn't interact with them much, he'll watch them play, he's patient sometimes but sometimes he chases them as if just to show who's boss, but he never actually hurts them or at least I've never seen him hurt them. He shares his food with them sometimes and at other times he's grouchy. I know this has nothing to do with my flute but still for some reason I wanted to record this.
As for the successive weeks, I haven't missed a day yet. But during the 3rd week. I kept forgetting during the day and would remember only before going to bed and ended up practising at midnight 2 or 3 times. I don't think I disturbed anybody since I heard snoring when I began practising and continued to hear snoring after I was finished, which was really surprising. But still, I was very uncomfortable, I couldn't blow very hard since I didn't want to be too loud and I don't think those sessions were of any help at all. I've been careful the past week, I had to practice really late only once, and I think I had a good reason for that day too.
Even though the commitment is for 15 minutes, I usually end up practising for 20 to 30 minutes. I think I sound better already.
