Instead of a short story I read the first two chapters of "Mio, my boy", a children's novel with the same premise as Harry Potter. In the first chapter, Karl Anders Nisslon disappears and the police are looking for him. They will never find him, because has moved to Farawayland, a magic kingdom where his father is the king. In the second chapter Mio and his Father the King walk through a garden of roses and he meets Pompoo who will be his first friend. They hit it off, and Mio learns he can laugh and be as loud as he wants, as his father is happy seeing him happy, unlike his foster parents. Lastly, darker times are foreshadowed by a dark bird.
