wrkinprogrss commits to:
concentrate on real world concerns and constructive actions until at least 6:30pm, today. I will put in at least two hours of quality work on the S work project (with review draft preparation and announcement as the highest priority until that's done), before I consume or write any fiction, today.
I will limit my subsequent consumption and writing of fiction to half an hour between 6:30pm and 7:00pm, and one additional hour starting no earlier than 8:00pm and ending no later than 10:32pm. I will set ending-time alarms before starting to consume fiction. I also commit to trying to notice any feelings or situations that immediately precede any cravings for escape into fiction, at any time when those may occur. I commit to turning off the computer and starting preparations for bed by 10:32pm, sharp, and I commit to be in bed with the lights out by 11:10pm.

| Success! Almost unqualified -- I actually set the alarms for ending fic-reading period while the periods were in progress, rather than before starting them, but I'm OK with that. I don't recall much craving for fiction, though I did crave getting away from the S project -- the 2 hour minimum on that before fiction definitely kept me at it at some times when I probably would have done something else, if not pre-stickked. It was a chiropractor day, so I tried to make my goals modest, and that was a good thing. | |
