This week was a complete success! Doing a steady 2 hours of work every day in such a structured way made a huge difference. Knowing that there was a penalty for failure got me in the chair and the discipline of taking a photo every 15 minutes kept me focused. The time passed more quickly, interestingly. Sometimes it felt like pausing to take a photo was the last thing I wanted to do, but it didn't hinder my productivity. The 14 hours of artwork was significantly more than I had been doing in recent weeks (though I had a great 22-hour painting week back in March). Additionally, about half the time when I did my 2 hours of painting the momentum spurred me on to do an additional couple of hours of work. Momentum is real! Here's how far I took my dryad/tree nymph painting in a week. |

| I was intimidated to embark upon this project but I think it's one of those things that's scary because it's meaningful. I'm good at pulling long hours at the easel when I need to, but I would like to create a habit of doing art regularly so my progress is steady. I believe a steady accumulation of artwork and the peace that comes from a healthy habit will both be beneficial to me. | |
