I have completed the 3 main goals that I am going to focus on in the upcoming weeks. I will also continue to look at Flippa and IndieHackers for inspiration, and am considering on putting up a simple quick site that allows friends and ideas to input. |
|
For those interested, I was also evaluating the markets for:
1) Online Retailer for only baksetball stuff (similar to SKLZ.com),
2) Car Pooling for Sports Kids (via parents)
3) Directory of all youth sports leagues in Chicago (ie. Yelp for Youth Sports)
4) FindASub (for Chicago Sports Social)
5) Sports/Tech Consulting Firm
It's not to say I won't do any of these but I will not focus on them to start with. |

#3. Credit Card Processing Market (MerchantPro Express):
Market Size: 18M businesses in the US. 14.5M have 1-9 employees. How many of my friends and friends of friends fall into the small-business market?
Revenue: TBD
Cost: Just time.
Profit: TBD
Time Requirement: 2 hr/week, and see what type of traction and recurring revenue I can generate.

#2. Online Personal Training Market:
Market Size: 350K trainers in the US. 3.5M trainers around the world.
Revenue: Fitbot is at $21K MRR, and only using organic growth, not using paid advertising.
Cost: 2 employees: $20K per month.
Profit: Flat.
Time Requirement: Make apps. Two-sided marketplace to find trainers and find clients. How do you find clients? I can setup a pilot to test this theory with http://www.rightfitpersonaltraining.com/ (Matt) and get better gauge of what this market looks like...and then create a product.
