improving my sound design skills every day, no matter how busy I am. This will be done by reading about the subject, learning how others do it, study sound and its synthesis techniques including music theory and harmony and apply the knowledge in a programming environment (SuperCollider).

So, the first week has passed. I have mainly concentrated on research, though not as much as I would have liked. I tried to isolate separate areas of sound design that I should work or think on. This is clearly too much for a 8 week commitment, but these are: -Localization -Multichannel expanson -Sound Synthesis -Manipulation of recorded sound -Auditory intrpretations of concpts/emotions -Creation of space -Human perception of pitch -Human perception of rhythm -Art of foley -Musical harmony |

Tim Ferris sent me here, so I shall try to apply his way: -Deconstruction -Selection -Sequencing -Stakes or DiSSS for short. My ultimate goal is to become a full fledged sound designer for, probably, theater which is where I work currently as a sound operator, technical staff in other words. Most activities I commit to doing are not completely new to me but the apparent lack of time and incentive has held me back. Perhaps stikk can help me with this. |
