My children are my world.

This week, it felt like my husband abandoned my children to do what he wanted to do such as hanging out with his friends, going to the gym and watching the basketball game. I was very frustrated because when I get home from work, instead of just focusing on my school work, I had to feed both of my kids, bathe them and get them ready for bed. Somewhere along the lines he forgot that they were his kids too! To cope with my stress and anger, I tried talking to him when the kids went to sleep. Still didn't make any difference to him. So I trained my thought process that these are my kids and I was fortunate enough to have them so I will take care of my kids by myself.

We can only control our actions and decisions, not others .

Even though I was upset that the husband decided to go to the gym instead of coming along with me to take both of my children to at at the park, I didn't get mad. I begin to realize that the we can only control our own actions and decisions and not any one else's, even though they are your significant other. I just began to understand his priorities that his self confidence through his image is very important to him. When coping with my emotions the strategies I used was to be optimistic and take deep breathes.
