Meditation has taught me that while it's calming and has a sedative effect, it isn’t fully therapeutic. It slows things down, offering clarity, but it doesn’t go deep enough to uncover the roots of my mental struggles. I feel more relaxed and quiet, yet I still carry anxiety and stress due to unresolved irrational beliefs. That said, since I started meditating, I’ve made real changes: I’ve begun journaling, stopped masturbating, lost weight, work out daily, track my meals, and as of today, I’m committing to quit porn. Meditation has clear benefits—it’s a force multiplier—but the underlying issues still persist. Still, the progress is undeniable. |

| Even with daily meditation, anxiety in social situations can persist because the practice reveals but doesn’t instantly dissolve old emotional patterns. Meditation helps create space between stimulus and reaction, but deeper change takes time and consistent effort. As Sam Harris notes, the real test of practice is how it affects daily life—not just calm on the cushion. I’ll continue meditating, increase mindfulness during conversations, and explore the illusion of self behind the anxiety. | |
