I have failed. Download IG to reconnect with some people, and I found myself scrolling reels every now and then during pockets of time between tasks.

Appreciate the guidelines Detta. I've lowkey fallen victim to that listening just to listen or listening for the sake of chasing dopamine. That's gotta be avoided. It has to be used with purpose.

You don't gotta cut it off fully necessarily.
Try to avoid it in the first part of the day.
I think it's better to indulge later during the day.
Also try to use it purposefully. If you are going for a walk, studying, laying down, reflecting, doing cardio, doing resistance training etc... all of these can be associated with some type of music to boost you up.
Imo I'd say avoid music in the morning/early part of the day.
And try to emphasize purposeful use of music associated with specific activities which you are trying to be consistent in. Avoid "just listening to listen". Avoid that urge to listen that you can kinda tell is just dopamine seeking when one is bored or understimulated. ESPECIALLY in the morning. But imo indulging in the later part of the day isn't too bad.

Debating whether I should cut out music. Worried that doing so will deprive me of the few things that bring me joy and leisure at the moment.
