Behavior Change Project Progress Report #5

Looking back on this behavior change project, I feel very proud of everything I have
accomplished. My goal was to consistently call my grandparents more often and make those
conversations a regular part of my routine. At the beginning of the project, this was something I
struggled with because I was balancing work, school, and many other responsibilities. Even
though I always cared about staying in touch with them, I often let busy days get in the way. As
the weeks went on, however, I became more intentional about making time for these phone calls.
What started as something I had to remind myself to do has now become a natural habit that I
genuinely enjoy. Looking back over the entire project, I can confidently say that I was successful
in reaching my goal and creating a positive behavior that I plan to continue long after this
assignment is over.
One of the biggest reasons I was successful was because I stayed committed to the
strategies I developed at the beginning of the project. The reminders I placed around my room, in
my car, and in my everyday bag helped keep my goal in front of me. I also continued using
alarms on my phone so I would not forget to call when life became busy. These reminders may
have seemed simple, but they made a huge difference by holding me accountable and helping me
stay consistent. Another important source of motivation was the encouragement I received from
my mom. She continued asking if I had talked to my grandparents, which reminded me to stay
on track and reinforced the importance of my goal. Over time, I no longer needed to rely on the
reminders as much because calling my grandparents gradually became a regular part of my
weekly routine.
Throughout the project, I noticed many positive changes beyond simply reaching my
goal. My conversations with my grandparents became longer, more meaningful, and much more
natural. Instead of feeling like it was another task I needed to complete, I found myself looking
forward to hearing about what was happening in their lives and sharing updates about mine.
These conversations helped strengthen our relationship and reminded me how valuable family
connections are, especially when everyone has busy schedules. I also became more organized
and responsible with my time because I learned how to prioritize something that truly mattered
to me. Rather than giving up when I had a hectic week, I adjusted my schedule and found
another opportunity to make the call. This project showed me that even small changes in daily
habits can have a meaningful impact when you stay committed and consistent.
Although I feel that I was successful overall, there are always ways I could continue
improving. Going forward, I would like to make even more of an effort to call my grandparents
at consistent times each week instead of waiting until I have extra free time. I would also like to
occasionally schedule video calls so we can see each other face-to-face, making our
conversations even more personal. As life continues to get busier, I know it will be important to
continue using the planning and time management skills I developed during this project. I also
want to remember why I chose this goal in the first place. I wanted to strengthen my relationship
with my grandparents and make sure they knew they were important to me, and this experience
reminded me how much those small moments of connection truly matter.
Overall, this behavior change project has been an extremely rewarding experience. It
taught me that creating lasting habits takes patience, consistency, and accountability, but that
meaningful change is possible. I not only achieved my original goal, but I also gained a greater
appreciation for spending quality time with the people I love. I am very proud of the progress I
made over these five weeks and of the effort I put into making this behavior a lasting habit. The
experience has given me confidence that I can successfully make positive changes in other areas
of my life by using the same strategies of setting clear goals, staying accountable, and remaining
consistent. Most importantly, I plan to continue calling my grandparents regularly even after this
project ends because I have seen firsthand how much these conversations mean to both them and
me. This project reminded me that some of the most meaningful changes in life come from
consistently making time for the people who matter most.

Progress Report #4
Over the past week, I have continued making great progress toward my behavior change goal of calling my grandparents more consistently. Looking back over the last four weeks, I am really proud of how much I have improved and how this goal has become a regular part of my routine. At the beginning of this project, I struggled to find the time and motivation to call them because I was so focused on work, school, and other responsibilities. However, after sticking with the strategies I created and making a conscious effort every week, I have found that calling my grandparents has become much easier and more natural. Overall, I would say this week has been my most successful yet.
One of the biggest reasons for my success has been staying consistent with the reminders and accountability methods I put in place. I have continued using alarms on my phone, the sticky notes I placed around my room, in my car, and in my everyday bag, and they have continued to remind me to make those phone calls. These small reminders have made a huge difference because they keep my goal in the front of my mind throughout the day instead of letting it get pushed aside by my busy schedule. My mom has also continued to encourage me and ask whether I have talked to my grandparents, which has helped me stay accountable and motivated to continue reaching my goal.
This week I was able to continue calling my grandparents multiple times, and I noticed that the conversations have become even more enjoyable. Instead of feeling like something I have to check off my to-do list, I genuinely look forward to hearing about what is going on in their lives and sharing updates about mine. I can tell that they enjoy hearing from me, and knowing that these calls brighten their day motivates me to keep making the effort. The conversations feel much more natural now, and I no longer worry about not knowing what to talk about because we always find something to discuss.
I have also noticed positive changes in myself throughout this project. I feel much more organized and responsible because I have learned how to create habits that fit into my everyday routine. This project has shown me that even small behavior changes can make a big impact when I stay committed and use the right strategies. Instead of becoming discouraged when I have a busy day, I simply adjust my schedule and make the call later. I have become much better at managing my time and making my relationships a priority instead of putting them off.
Another thing I have realized is how much stronger my relationship with my grandparents has become over the past month. Since I have been calling them more often, I feel more connected to them and more involved in their lives. They know what is happening with school, work, and everything else I have going on, and I have enjoyed hearing about what they have been doing as well. These conversations have reminded me how important family relationships are and that spending just a few minutes on the phone can make a meaningful difference for both of us.
Overall, I believe this project has been extremely successful. The strategies I developed at the beginning of the project have worked well, and I do not feel like I need to make any major changes to my plan moving forward. I simply want to continue doing what has been working by keeping my reminders in place, staying accountable, and making time in my schedule to call my grandparents consistently. I am very happy with the progress I have made and proud that I have been able to turn this goal into a lasting habit. This experience has taught me that meaningful behavior change is possible when I remain consistent, stay positive, and remember why the goal is important to me. I plan to continue calling my grandparents regularly even after this project ends because I have seen firsthand how valuable these conversations are for both them and me.

Progress Report #3

For this progress report, I have a few updates. This week I have been lacking in my goal of calling my grandparents three times a week. My mom, who I appointeted to help me has also been forgetting to remind me to call my mimi and my grandma. I feel that I need to step up my game to get better at calling my grandparents. I have tried to explain that they can call me too, but they feel bad and never end up calling me. So, from there I was only able to call them two times each last week, which is not the worst thing, but I would like to reach for more calls moving forward.

To do this, I stuck a few sticky notes around. I put one going out my bedroom door, one by my air vents in the car, and one in the inside of my everyday tote bag. I am hoping that when I see these, I can be reminded to call my grandparents more frequently. My mom also plans to text and call me for updates.

At the end of the day, I think it is important to continue holding myself accountable knowing that I can do this. I believe that for me it is all in my head mentally, and I can lock in to do it. All I need to do is believe in myself and I can do it!

Progress Report #2

For my week two update, I believe I have been doing well at staying on track with my goal of calling my grandparents a few times a week. This week I was able to call my mimi three times and my grandma four times. I have alarms set on my phone, so that after work I can get a reminder to call them on my drive home. It has been amazing to have something to look forward to on my drive home so that it is not boring. Not only this, but my mom has continued to check up on me and remind me of my goals. This has been great because whenever she asks if I have called my grandma or mimi, I am already on top of it! I am very thankful I made my mom my referee, so that I can have someone to hold me accountable. I have also noticed a change in attitude from my grandparents. My mimi has told me how grateful she is to have heard about my life and things I am up to more often and my grandma’s tone changes as soon as she answers and realizes it is me calling. I am so grateful that not only do I get to make a part of their day special, but also that they have helped add some sparkle to the rest of my day. Moving forward, I plan to stay with a consistent pattern so that I can continue to hold myself accountable towards calling my grandparents. I am very thankful that I can complete this project because it has helped me to set a goal, I initially had a hard time with, but by sitting down and taking a moment to think I came up with a solid plan of action. I am looking forward to keeping up with my goal and continuing to keep a positive mindset. I cannot wait to see what the next few weeks have in store for me!
