Arrive @ office by 9:30A EVERY day M-F. Work 7+ hr between 9A-7P M-F. (If in KC, 10h timer starts at office, subtract work already done.) To measure, record breaks in journal. At most 5 hr TOTAL / M-F during work time on: gchat, composing non-work/admin e-mails, " websites (incl. pointed to by e-mails), " conversation (Except about my work, or if they need my help.) On weekends, do 4+ hours of work, w/in 6 hours of arriving at work. Up to 1 hr / day transfers.

I did not meet my goal this week because I did not keep good records. I spent large amounts of time e-mailing and chatting on work time, and I do not know whether I went over time, because I did not write these things down all week. It is likely that I went over time. I believe I forgot to do this in part because I had not recorded chat / e-mail time for many weeks -- since I was chatting very little due to my high workload. Upon the introduction of a lower stress workload, I started chatting / e-mailing again, but I was still not recording. Record-keeping is mandatory, therefore I did not meet my goal. |
