I'm still smoking seven cigarettes per day and have tried to smoke only five but find myself smoking the last two at the end of the evening just before bed. I will smoke only five throughout this weekend then stick to this plan of five cigarettes for next week. |

I have limited myself to 7 cigarettes per day thus being under the limit of this weeks 8 cigarettes per day. Next week will be more difficult as I will be graduating to 6 cigarettes however I'm successful with a great start, now. |

I have started my cigarette cessation program. Initially, I would only have 10 cigarettes per day for the first week however I found myself only smoking 7-8 cigarettes. This was interesting to me since I was more busy than usual and I tend to smoke when bored or with plenty of time to reflect or something like that. I will step down to 8 cigarettes starting Monday per program and this is mainly because there is less scheduled through this week so I'm sure that I will be tested more at this time. I keep telling myself to be positive and use my children and wife as the big picture for success. |

I have written a contract to address my smoking addiction. I will reduce my cigarette intake per day due to being unsuccessful to quit all at once. When I have reduced my cigarette intake to 5 cigarettes per day then I will stop all at once and not smoke from that point on. The initial smoking cessation plan will begin with smoking only 10 cigarettes per day for the initial week of 5/13/13. The next week will be only smoking 9 cigarettes then 8 cigarettes the following week until reaching the magic number of 5 cigarettes per day for the final week thus stopping all smoking cigarettes every week after this point. I have motivation due to a parent quitting just recently due to being placed onto oxygen. I plan to succeed at quitting smoking this Summer. Mike Cary |
