I once again followed through with the daily commitment of reading material 5 mornings out of the week. This commitment is becoming a habit for me and is becoming easier for me to follow through with each morning. I am glad that I took this on as a commitment to better manage my time and study habits. I plan on continuing this and making it part of my daily routine.

This week I was back on track being able to read each morning for the hour long period. My daily routine was more on track. I have noticed that as the weather gets colder and the mornings are darker this goal is becoming more of a struggle for me to follow through with. But once again, because I am being held accountable by this assignment, this contingency contract, and my husband as the referee it seems to be enough to self-motivate me to make a productive decision of following through with the goal. I know that if I was left alone to accomplish this goal without being held accountable by something outside of myself, I would probably give in many morning and not follow through. I am striving to continue this goal throughout the remainder of the academic semester and hopefully even implementing this into my permanent daily schedule.

This week I had a bit of trouble following through on the full duration of my goal. I ended up being able to read for approximately 20-30 minutes each for two days, rather than the full hour. My child was not sleeping well and her typical morning routine was off. To still achieve my reading goal, I added an additional 30 minutes to my reading time during the afternoon/evening of each of those days. This allowed me to stay on track with my reading and still follow through with end result of my goal. Overall, having my husband as my referee along with this being structured as an assignment is definitely enough to make me strive to be accountable to my goal. It has definitely improved my ability to successfully read all of the material that is mandatory for classes and that is needed for the non-profit organization. I hope to continue in a positive manner in the weeks to come.

I have been successfully reading each weekday (Monday-Friday). This period, once again I have read each morning for at least 1 hour. I am currently pregnant and on Monday morning I was not feeling well. I definitely would have not read, but the fact that I was held accountable to this assignment and contract was enough to provide additional drive for me to fulfill the reading. I will continue to plan my schedule accordingly to ensure that I have time to fulfill my reading obligation each morning.
