I'm doing better. And I goofed on my recent entry and they said it can be corrected. They were even willing to adjust the initial weight (I was off by 2 pounds...I guessed lower than what I was). So as of right now I am well on track and hope to keep it that way! I'm lowering my soda intake as well. Even though I drink diet 99% of the time, I drink too much of it, so I'm trying to drink more water and only a max of 20 oz of DIET pop a day. Here's to weight loss!

Bummer... the choices you are making are clearly undermining your weight loss efforts. Do NOT give up, though! You just need to find the right strategy for you. It sounds like you have a whole lot going on in your life, and that adds up to stress and being "reactive" instead of "proactive" regarding your food choices. I am a stress eater myself, who self-comforts with food. Sounds like you do that too. That's very understandable, but if you want to lose weight you need to help yourself bypass those habits. It sounds like you need to do a little planning so you have healthier options available when you need them. If you like snack cakes for breakfast, find yourself a healthy granola bar or even those breakfast cookies to have on hand. Frosty craving at lunch? Maybe your body really needs the dairy... opt for yogurt instead. For quick, easy dinner options, fill your kitchen with choices that are as easy as picking up fast food. Get some frozen diet entrees to microwave. Have lots of fresh veggies around so you can eat until you feel full without ingesting a lot of calories. Have carrot sticks and other healthy snacks in your purse to eat whenever you want. Think about what you need and make sure it's available. You can do this!!!

Today I cheated(?). I had a snack cake instead of a real breakfast. I had a Wendy's frosty at lunch. And dinner was a plain double cheeseburger from McDonalds. Of course, I had a 9 hour class to sit through and came home to a wheezing and vomiting 1 year old. I'm just now sitting down after dealing with the Urgent Care, the puke and the baby. I feel bad for eating that crap, but obviously I didn't feel bad enough to avoid it. I'm curious to see what this does for my weigh in on Tuesday...

You very appropriately commented in my commitment journal the importance of recording all that you do so you can keep track of it. That was excellent advice that I suggest you take to heart yourself. I think we easily fool ourselves into denial about just how much snacking we do. Write it down! I record my food on sparkpeople.com or just on my calendar page for the day. Find something that works for you and keep reaching for that broccoli and carrot sticks! I LOVE "free" foods myself and usually have some guilt-free home-made vege soup around that I use to snack on. It always makes me feel really full for almost no calories. Best of luck!
