Unfortunately, I did not complete my goal for this week, only replacing two smoothies. We had a death in our family, and I was distracted from my goal. However, on Monday, I started prepping again and so far this week, I have had three shakes 2 in the morning and one for lunch. A new smoothie place opened up in a shopping center near my work so I bought one for lunch today and it was very good! |

I completed another week of replacing all 5 meals with a replacement shake! I decided to stick with my normal morning shakes, except for one day, I did a lunch one. The morning is the most convenient time, as I can drink a shake on my way to work or before I leave in the morning. I also notice that I benefit the most from replacing a morning shake than any other meal, as it gives me a nice energy boost and is the most delicious one! I overall feel better, so much so that I have attempted to go to the gym before work at 5am, and seem to have the energy to do so! So far, this goal has been very rewarding and not as challenging as I thought, due to all the natural (positive!) consequences it has had! I do reward myself with my Saturday night dinners, but the real motivating factor and reinforcement comes from my overall better health. I also calculated the money, and so far I have saved $75 on coffee! |

Last week, I was able to replace all 5 meals with a shake. However, due to in-service meetings that provided breakfast or an afternoon meeting that was serving subs, I had an alteration in when I was replacing from last week (which was all morning shakes). Having bought my juicing book last weekend, I was motivated to try a 'dinner' shake, which I had on Tuesday night. The dinner shake included avocado, blueberries, tomato, spinach, mango, and cayenne pepper, so it met the shake criteria and was surprisingly delicious! I replaced Friday's lunch meal with a shake called "Triple Green", which had honeydew melon, cucumber, and 4 kale leaves, however I added a banana to fit my shake criteria, another delicious shake! The remaining 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) I stuck with my breakfast shake. Even on the two days I replaced a dinner or lunch meal, I didn't stop for my usual coffee, as I feel like I have more energy in the morning. Along with saving money (which is certainly motivating), feeling more energized and better about myself has been keeping me on track and wanting to do so! |

Last week, I successfully replaced all 5 meals with a shake! I drank a shake every morning in place of my usual coffee and english muffin. I made all my shakes the night before, which definitely saved time and effort in the morning. All my shakes were the same and included half of a banana, 1 cup of strawberries, 1/2 of spinach, 1/2 cup of kale, one tablespoon of almond butter and one teaspoon of flax seed. I am also saving money, as I don't stop at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, which has been another motivating factor so far. I bought a juice book over the weekend, and am looking forward to trying new recipes. |
