Cut back on caffeine Star this Commitment
Week 2 of 2

HoundDogZA commits to:
I am going to cut back on my caffeine intake. I tend to feel headaches if I don't have coffee/tea often which is a problem. I also wonder if it affects the quality of my sleep. I will therefore:

- Have a maximum of 2 caffeinated drinks per day. Not just coffee/tea but also anything that contains caffeine such as fizzy or energy drinks.

I will give this a shot for 2 weeks and see if it is sustainable or meaningful. I tend to drink at least 5-6 cups a day so this will be a fair reduction.

I've managed to keep the caffeine intake down to 2 drinks per day. I can't say whether this has helped my sleep at all but I will think on it and decide if I want to prolong this commitment to another 2 weeks. As I am getting sick I won't be too hard on myself for the next few days.

I didn't realize that I'd set this goal for 2 weeks instead of 1 so I've been really tough on myself for sticking to the 2 cups of coffee/tea rule daily since my return from the UK. As it stands, today I have had my 2 cups already so it's all water and rooibos tea for the rest of the evening :)

Incidentally I've got signs of a cold coming on (Sore throat and run down feeling :/) but energy drinks are a no go :(

I have cut back on caffeine significantly during the coarse of this goal and stuck with the commitment. I am not going to reinstate it however while I am now travelling but when I'm back home next week I will consider doing this again :)

I managed to survive yesterday on absolutely zero caffeine from 7:15 to 22:00 :) Curiously I ended up drinking more water as well as I felt rather thirsty all day, which is probably a good thing. I've just had my first coffee today so only one more allowed which I will probably save until lunchtime.

I did kind of feel slightly headachy this morning before the first cup. Not sure if related :)
