I predicted in October that reaching my waking up goal was going to be down to the wire. Well today, with only one day left to spare, I woke up at 5:30 for the 184th time this year. I DID IT! Becky reached that target almost a month ago, so I've been playing catch-up, and just barely made it.
I'm really happy that I set - and achieved - these two goals. My weight was leveled out at around 176 lbs now, which isn't too bad, but compared to a year ago I am exercising more, reading more, and eating healthier. I feel like I'm more in charge of my body, my time, and my life. Good momentum to carry into 2017! |

Today I have a few reasons to celebrate. First of all, it's my birthday! But it's also the end of our 30-day Paleo diet. I did my final weigh-in this morning and after starting the month at 183lbs I am now...170! Thirteen pounds in one month. So with that I have completed Goal #2!
I weighed Vivien the other day and the somewhat disturbing realization that the weight I have lost this year is roughly equal to her entire body weight. I had an entire toddler's worth of excess weight on my body!
Not quite sure what my diet will be like now, but I do want to get more serious about exercising. Hopefully I'll eat a little more normally but exercise more and the two will cancel out. The big focus now is waking up early. I need to wake up at 5:30 at least 5 times a week for the rest of the year in order to make my goal. It's going to be down to the wire... |
