Stay focused and diligent on my daily Chinese study. I commit to the following daily goals - 1.5 hours of reading, 1.5 hours of writing and at least one hour of speaking practice every day. Also commit to memorizing 15 sentences each day with new vocab words.

| I board a plane in 5 hours! Coming home for the summer break! Still planning on meeting with my teacher over Skype this summer. Even though this StickK contract is finished today .... I still have good language goals already set to continue improving. Thank you all again for all your encouraging support and cheering me on each week. I thank the Lord for you all!! | |

| Last week, this semester is finished officially on Friday. Then I'm boarding a plane on Sunday! Has been a great week filled with more new experiences. Spent two days in a nursing home since the nursing students are working there. Also, sang with a Chinese choir in a choir competition here at the school. I was able to translate the characters into pin ying so the other foreign teachers could read the words and know what to sing. It was a fabulous week! Thank you again for all your support! It always encourages me! | |

Almost made it to the end of the semester! Flying home on July 10th! Another great week filled with lots of conversation with my Chnese friends. Yesterday I rode the bus with one of the Chinese students here at the university, she recently won first place in the English speech competition. I asked about her study methods .... Interestingly, she has been watching lots of English tv and movies, reading books, conversation practice, learning new phrases and sentences. Almost exactly what I have been doing for the last few weeks. Glad I changed my goal and study method! Today when she comes back to school she offered to bring some of her old Chinese books she used to read in middle and high school. Just never know what could happen after an unexpected meeting with a student on the bus!

Had an opportunity this week to attend a Chinese wedding! It was great fun and especially had opportunities to learn more about the culture and their daily life. My study is paying off in many ways!
