Completed the course in that I viewed all of the lectures. But there are more resources yet to try. So many resources included. An excellent course but my disappointment - the title changed from “A True Beginner's Guide to Making Money Online” to ”A True Beginner's Guide to Setup an Online Business”. Six weeks ago, I began this course hoping to Make Money Online by following the steps and the instructor's guidance. Setting up the Wordpress site was awesome (though some plugins did not work correctly with a multisite installation however that was not part of the promise). So much was covered in the 9.5 hours! Yet, I think the course should have additional parts to take us step by step - through actually making money online. As the instructor pointed out, the WordPress site has good bones. However, as a beginner, I did not want the hands on steps to stop with two test posts and tons back-end plugins ‘ready to go’. Although so many resources are included from the “A True Beginner’s Guide for How to Make Money Online” ( http://www.pideals.com/beginners-guide-on-how-to-make-money-online/ ) web page... I would encourage the instructor to add future courses - demonstrating what was discussed after the WordPress site was created - utilizing the many resources, and having us follow along in actual doing - like he did in the first lectures - demonstrating the use of free online image editing sources, creating a logo, then using it in WordPress - adding all the plugins and so forth. Perhaps, the next course could include actual content creation - actual product inclusion and other step by step demonstrations for us, true beginners, who are not able to absorb all the additional content and links on their own. The instructor was so very helpful and quick at answering questions in the Udemy discussion area. He very thoroughly commented and pointed out helpful information. He offered to help students beyond the course – even offering to be a Stickk referee. However, at the time, of the over 1,000 students in the course, only one other student and myself posted questions/comments – thus I hated to continue without seeing feedback from other students and learning from their questions. My disappointment - is that I have yet to make money online! I believed this course would take me to that point. However, changing the title during the middle of the course rattled me - to realize the course was not really promising "Make Money Online". What is bad, I believed the original title and now am getting desperate to make money online as our mortgage payment is due and I have not a cent to put towards it after six weeks. We are not sure if we will ever make money online and unfortunately, unless something changes soon, we may lose our house in the process of trying. But, I highly recommend the course - especially for those beginners who can continue on their own with a great WordPress site set up. Plus, learning about Stickk and Hassleme is something I will continue to use plus the online editing sites and well, there is so much in this course I learned. Carlton’s course is worth the time! Just don’t expect step by step hand holding to the end until you make your first $1 online – though the instructor offers to add further guidance. I hope he creates additional courses to take folks through making their first dollar! Thank you Carlton Bryant (https://www.udemy.com/user/carltonbryant/) for steering me in the right direction! | I am 60% complete in the Udemy Course A True Beginner's Guide to Setup an Online Business (formerly known as A True Beginner's Guide to Make Money Online. Currently, I am adding Push Notifications... Lecture 24, Email List Setup Part 2. I configured MailChimp to work with Optin Forms using a new Mail Chimp Profile. As the instructor said, the WordPress site now has "good bones". I am eager to continue the course and hope to progress faster as the WordPress site is set up. I worry about the title change as from the beginning I took the course thinking it was "how to make money online" which is my goal. Now, I am not sure this will happen within the six weeks - as perhaps, that is not the objective of the course as the original title implied. I can not wait to continue learning and utilizing all the many resources included with the course. I hope to speed up this final week of my course and get to the home stretch by next Sunday. | |

Did not work on course. So IMPORTANT to me but seems like have been a bit jinxed in other areas. Slowed down due to MOTH invasion in kitchen and main floor - from recently purchased cat food. Working on that problem - hopefully soon resolved completely after removing food from cabinets and all from bathroom. So much was tossed out. Another show stopper - literally. Total dis(h)hearted and felt lost. DISH DVR failed and all my TV shows from 2+ years were erased. DVR was 97% full. No longer able to watch and record shows. On the plus side, this should give more time available to work on Make Money ONLINE course and other resolutions. But so disappointing. Favorite shows/ news, John Stewart Daily Show, 60 minutes (anchors now deceased) news with past holidays, shows no longer airing-- and irreplaceable - all erased after adding a new hard disk to back them up. Even those saved on external hard disk erased overnight. No idea why this happened and continues to happen. So down about it did not call DISH. Lost. Feel jinxed recently - like am not doing things right and am being punished. One step forward and three steps back. Maybe after I accomplish my other goal (cleaning bedroom/closet/hallway), life will start getting better and I can get back to focusing on completing this extremely important, Make Money Online Course. Hoping! Hope is still there that I accomplish this goal and stop feeling down about the rest. Only two weeks left and so much yet to learn. Can't seem to get back to this course until the house gets back in order and I come to grips with losing all DVR recordings. Hoping this weeks brings results - first in clean up and then concentrating fully on this course. Can't wait to make progress. |
