I did it! I made it through my entire novel from start to finish one more time. It's better than ever before, and getting through it gave me hope that I can actually see this project through to the end. I really feel hopeful for the future of this story. It's just going to get better and better every time I give it another go. |

Holy moly. Finished the fourth draft of my novel. It's done. Brenda has all 30 chapters. Whatever happens next, this is the best draft of my novel yet. I know there will be a fifth draft, reviewing and incorporating Brenda's suggestions; improving the first draft endings I just wrote. Then there will be a sixth draft, reviewing and incorporating suggestions from beta readers. If I'm lucky, there will be a seventh draft with an agent, and if I'm even luckier, an eighth and maybe ninth draft with editors at publishing houses. There's still a long way to go, but man, I've made it pretty damn far. |

Three days left. Technically four, but I want at least one day off before I plunge into Nanowrimo. I don't even really feel up for Nanowrimo this year. But I'm going to try. I spent an hour writing today. I'm closer to finishing Chapter 27, but not quite there yet. Half way. One half chapter to go, and one more chapter after that. Three days. It can be done, right? |

Last Sunday, I got almost two full chapters written in four hours. This week, I only got one written in 3.5 hours. At least I got one written. I have 7 days left before this contract requires I give $360 to a charity I disagree with. I don't even really have $360 to give -- all of our savings are tied up in taxes we owe to the government. So that will be a painful amount to lose. And it's not going to happen. I have seven days to write two more chapters, and I intend to make that happen. |
