I submitted this yesterday but there is no way to mark tasks completed early. Now I'm going to take the weekend, then make the next commitment for completing the conclusion. |

I took the weekend off from this and this morning got back to the grind. It's due by the end of Friday or else $25 is going to Donald Trump. It's time consuming - when I don't have a solid of a rough draft as I want, the typing up is slow going. In the space of an hour I manage 1 1/4 pages. It feels like that stretch in a race where you know you're almost there, but you're not quite in the home stretch, and it's just really tough to stay motivated. But instead of talking about it here, I might as well go work on it right now, bye |

This commitment is going well so far. I've left p7 where it is right now because I know typing it up into the "second first draft" is going to present some challenges that I don't want to get hung up on at the moment. I moved onto p8, which is going more smoothly, and should be able to wrap up tomorrow. I could do it today if I dedicated the day to it, but I have other things I need to do, including my day job, so. Just saying, I'm on track, I ought to hit this one no problem, and then I've got some tricky bits coming up in the concluding sections but overall we're on track. |

This is an ongoing but gig-like commitment that I partially regret entering into because it takes a massive amount of time and energy, and is challenging in a way that I don't find particularly compatible with my life goals. However, it pays well, and I really like having that extra money coming in; it's been a game-changer for me, financially. I'm in the home stretch of the first draft, and I'd really like to be more aggressive about finishing the book and getting paid in full, fulfilling the contract and being done with it. Procrastinating is not helping at all! So with this stickK commitment, I can get these next two chapters done, then head into the conclusion, which, I didn't set full completion as my goal because I need to go over a few things before estimating how long that conclusion ought to take. I'd say two weeks but it could be as little as one, if I go for it ambitiously. Then at that point I'll be, realistically, 50% done with the entire process, but the second half is more on par with editing. Extensive editing, to be sure, but the framework is all there, I'll just be working additional content into the draft.
So I've got a little over a week to get these next two chapters in. One is semi-drafted, the next is outlined. No problem. |
