For the next twelve weeks I commit to comply with the strictest interpretation of the slow carb diet. That means that for six days per week my only significant source of carbohydrates will come from beans and legumes which, being hi in fiber offer energy but do not spike insulin levels the way that other, more simple carbs do.

Failed the last two weeks. Special events challenged my commitment. Had a lunch to honor the administrative assistants at church on Friday at a restaurant I love been wanting to try. At first I figured I'd let myself have just a cheat meal but that meek was so decadent that I figured I'd just make Wednesday my cheat day and go a week and a half until my next cheat day. I didn't have the discipline. So, no matter what or where, this week I'm on the wagon. No jumping off for a birthday party or a free meal somewhere.
