I've had a shift in priorities. (Life tends to dish out experiences and lessons like that.) Instead of focusing so much on the short stories, I have made other goals. Since I'm now a single mom of two kids, I'm working on building my brands and generating revenue. I have income goals for each quarter, as well as a list of things to do.

I'll share quarter 1 since we're in this right now.

Quarter 1 goals (January - March):

*Income goal: Generate $5,000/month in freelance work by the end of the quarter
*Write one blog post for CBC (freelance website) each week
*Write one article on LinkedIn each week to connect with potential clients
*Write one blog post for Mystiquill each week
*Use the CREATE planner to check in monthly with each business (CBC and Mystiquill)
*Write a white paper for CBC as an opt-in incentive
*Send 20 cold emails a day starting 1/22 to build client list (Stop this once I have 7 clients for weekly blog posts scheduled)
*Finish Killer Cold Emailing course
*Finish Guest Blogging course
*Have a minimum of 7 clients for weekly blog posts
*Have at least 10 clients for rotational/monthly work
*Edit 50 articles a day (minimum) for at-home work (OR edit 20 articles a day, minimum, for on-site work)

Quarter 2, I'll get back to reading, writing fiction, building my mom blog brand, and taking more action with Mystiquill. Right now, my main focus is on freelance writing and editing.

Day 5 update: Out of seven scenes, I've written four complete scenes and half of scene five. I'm aiming to finish tonight after work, but it depends on what time I get out. If I get out and to the restaurant before 2am, I want to wrap it up tonight. Scenes have been long.

Scene 1: 1242
Scene 2: 884
Scene 3: 1379
Scene 4: 775

Scene 5 has 671 words so far and is about halfway finished.

More updates soon.

Day 1: I managed to plan the story, the characters, and the setting! I wrote a scene list--there are seven scenes for the first story--and I wrote all of scene one and part of scene two. I have 1,424 words so far with more to come tomorrow. I think I might be able to actually do this thing!
