bruce borowsky commits to:
1. Avoiding opening these websites: Youtube, humor, 24-hour news cycle sites (cnn.com, msnbc.com), Amazon movies/TV, and other movie/TV sites.
2. Designating one period of time per day (no more than fifteen minutes) for certain other sites: Facebook, Amazon books, longer form politics/news reading sites (politico.com, others)
3. Check in with stickk once a day with report.
4. Choosing once a week for a break for movies/TV (two-three hours but at one time, not spread out over a day or days).

I kept my commitment this week. I'll start tomorrow on a set of commitments, revising the past two. Trying to work on getting more sleep and on keeping certain deadlines. But we'll see. Overall, I've had a good week.

Again, had trouble waking up. Got up and ate, then fell asleep almost right after. A couple of changes--buy an alarm clock and turn off the cell phone til morning. There's also an online course on Coursera on sleeping well. I have videos from that. But being able to stay up from the beginning of the day would be good.

One thing I have trouble with is waking up in the morning. I get up at 6-6:30 but eventually feel pulled back to sleep. By eight, I'm up and starting the day. Not a problem for now, but in about 2-3 weeks, I'll have to be somewhere at 7 AM twice a week and won't have the option to make my own schedule. The problem's part of my commitment--waking in the middle of the night and reading the phone. Last night, I read pages of Wikipedia on volcanos.

So, the next step is to turn off the phone when I go to bed. I'm not sure whether it'll solve the problem totally. There are some medical things at work. But I'll see. Goal for next week maybe.

When I don't procrastinate, I get a realistic idea of how much time any job takes. Much longer than I expect. Changes planning.
