I create a form that takes a description of food allergies from a user and spits out a PDF. I've worked everyday and accomplished my challenge ahead of the deadlines by just a few days. I learned how to code Python. Brushed up on my stale knowledge of HTML, JS, CSS. I researched and tested different PDF generation packages for Python, landing on WeasyPrint. I researched online hosting services that support Python, landing on Heroku. I've researched online development frameworks, landing on Django. I then learned how to use Django and then implemented WeasyPrint and created HTML templates using Bootstrap for the forms page and created a pixel-perfect card template that takes the form data and is used by WeasyPrint to generate a PDF, which is generated server-side and delivered to the client browser. I've done all this in 5 weeks! |
