Welp, the whole version is now online. Not gonna keep adding new stuff, just might see if I tweak it a bit. Add... something. I noticed I changed the artstyle after all, even when I had already "locked" it up? So might just revisit the starting sequences, and there's one moment of VERY badly clipped audio I kinda want to make better.

Overall feeling a bit "Ugh". But at least now it's there, for the lat two weeks I'll just report on the improvements I've made.

So now I got both the starting sequence and the ending sequence. I wanted to keep something of my original idea regarding similarities at the start and at the ending, and with this I can at least hold onto the idea of a closing circle - even if the method changed.

The schedule seems to still hold; I'm missing two weeks' worth of new content, after which I will have one week left to try to polish at least one thing of the animatic. What it will be? I have no idea yet. I think I will just try to sit through and watch the whole thing, and try to fix what feels the most painful to me to look at.

That being said, the worst self-hatred towards this project seems to have passed, knowing I only have two weeks left (and seeing how little I have to add there anymore). For the next project I aim to contemplate on whether or not this distaste I feel towards long projects can be called "loathing" - or perhaps I should call it by another name? "Exhaustion", perhaps?

Welp, last four weeks going on, so according to my calculations I should either JUST make it in time, OR then I will have one week for polishing up things I don't like. There is not enough time to fix everything that irks me, but if I do have that one extra week, might aim to make some minor modifications about scenes that bother me the most/didn't end up working like I wanted them to.

All in all, pretty wild ride already. Cutting it a bit close to DL again, been worried about people close to me to whom BLM is hitting close. But we endure and we march on.

I absolutely refuse to lose two periods in a row. Not sure if I'll publish the end product, I feel very strongly about the things I have created during these weeks and their imperfection.

One DEFINITE upside though (in addition to having learned new things): talked with my art mentor and they had some very constructive suggestions about what to do with the start/end. I can't add the speedpaint like I originally planned because I paint too slow for the speed-up to look good in 25 seconds, but I may now have a thought about how to possibly retain the idea of speedpaint without actually doing it. That means I'm not suddenly left with 50 seconds and no idea what to do with them.

Sometimes all you really need is a mentor to soundboard thoughts off from.
