| At the beginning of this commitment, I wanted to focus on tracking how I spend and where I could make adjustments. Although I haven't had any success with my goal YET, I now understand the reality of my current lifestyle based on how I have spent eating out the past month. I average $100 per week, which is double my goal. I'm in a position where I question if my goal is even realistic, but it's something that can still be done. I think I have to remind myself it's not about just decreasing spending on eating out, but saving that money up for something along the lines of memorable experiences. In a sense, using all this money on routine meals (eating the same thing outside) seems like a waste. I have two big events coming up (snowboarding, Vegas) and it's motivating me to crunch down and financially prepare. My plan for this next week is to keep minor purchases to a minimum (boba, chips, coffee, candy) and wake up early enough to prepare my lunch at/post work so I don't feel tempted to go out and buy something right after. | |
