Joe, it has been my honor to walk alongside you during this time. I can't tell you how proud I am of you. You're right that this will always be a battle, but as you change your habits, it does become easier. The big thing is to be prepared for those times you are alone or that life takes a rough turn. Have a plan for what you're going to turn to for comfort and de-stressing other than porn or wanking. Also, remember that any challenges you face in life are better fought with encouragement and accountability from others. Seek that out and provide it for others. If you should need me again, you can message me on stickk. Depending on what accountability I'm dong at the time, I may not be checking it all the time, but hopefully I'll see it. Hey! Look at that, 90 days has passed. Sucks that I missed the second to last check-in, but there was no actual relapse. It's been well over a month since my last relapse (may 8), and even longer since I looked at porn. Although addiction will never be "cured", I feel like the battle is behind me. Having my girlfriend living with me has been pretty good to keep me accountable in the last month. This has been easy times, and I havent had hardly any temptations for porn. We've been playing board games (Universal Monsters 'Horrified' and 'Century: A New World'), playing video games, and lately looking for places to move out on our own. It hasn't always been this way though. I fought this fight by myself for three years. Finding Stickk and you helped me feel like I didnt have to do this alone. You gave me new hope to beat this thing when I was about ready to give up. I wouldn't be where I am right now without NoFap. Just since I started using stickk at the beginning of this year, I overcame my life long driving anxiety, regained enough confidence to start dating again and made a bunch of new friends. Despite all the crazy shit going on in the world, my life has completely changed for the better since the beginning of this year. In the next months I'll be moving into my own place with my girlfriend, and then next spring we'll both be done with community college and moving onto our bachelor's degrees. I cant expess enough how thankful I am for all your support. You stayed consistent even when I was not, and have been there to support me no matter what. Thank you for sticking with me Zane. |
