Work on programming or creative practice daily. I will sit down, set a creative or learning related goal, open up the relevant software, and attempt to make headway towards the goal for 10 minutes. This week we did pretty well - we finished a python script that adds and refactors new shaders/materials to Shapes, and allows us to create transparent stencils. Last Sunday: Began our investigation into motion design in Unity. Broke down some simple geometric animation into its constituent parts. Monday: Learned some noise techniques for masking stuff in motion graphic design, did some more animation breakdowns. Tuesday: Researched and played around with sprite masks in Unity. Wednesday: Played around with using the universal render pipeline in unity to achieve different masking tricks. Thursday: Began experimenting with the depth/stencil exposure feature in Shapes. Friday: Poked my nose into the new version of Shader Graph for the URP, experimented with it. (it's changed a bit) Saturday: Found two solutions to the stencil cutout problem for the Shapes package. Sunday: Working on the "good" solution to the stencil cutout problem for the Shapes package - writing a python script to autogenerate new cutout shaders for every shape type. https://www.notion.so/theusualbutetymologicallyunsatisfactory/8ac330b99e714769bb29368e9efdd53d?v=7671ed644b63406f8355856736a8a684 |
