Get up the first moment I wake up.
Sometimes there is a distinctive phase where I gain consciousness for a minute, but feel tired and fall back asleep until my alarm/another hour/etc. I used to be in the habit of jumping out of bed in that moment, and love what it does to my day.

Today: first true success! Up at 6am, a full 1.5 hours before my alarm. I thought the piece I was missing was regular sleep (and that may still be true). But it also helps to remind myself my wake-up goal before I fall asleep, to set up anticipation of waking up early. |

| Today: naah. Several close passes with the "Hey, I'm awake! But oooh sooo tired..." phase. The trick is to train myself not to think "i'm tired, therefore I should not get up." | |

| Today: meh... not so much. Def. woke up early, and def rolled over and decided to do nothing about it. Still feeling exhausted in that moment—the "well-rested magic" has yet to hit. | |

| Today: batted away my alarm at 6:45am. But then did wake up 1+ hours later at the first whiff of natural consciousness. So another qualified success. | |
