Fasting as long as I can into each day. Refraining from sweets and potato chips entirely. No chocolate milk. No meat, poultry, and pork. No dairy except cream in coffee. No more fritters on Fridays. Daily weigh ins.

So I was doing really well. I was watching my calorie intake and moving around more, but didn’t really see any lose. I was able to hold the line, though. I think it helped that I stopped disappearing to Major Tom after work. Their food is so full of salt. I just balloon. I just need to keep at it.

So I keep cheating and I don’t know why. The evidence that I’m misbehaving is apparent every morning. 😞

I think it might be time to consider antidepressants. All of my symptoms are the classics ones: disinterest in favourite activities; low energy; sleeping more; eating more; restlessness; anxiety; can’t concentrate. I have no interest in my job. Then you layer on the heart stuff, the respiratory stuff, the sinus stuff. I think my eating is a symptom of something deeper.

So I started out strong. I was able to fast well, and get in my mileage on in the first couple of days, all without eating the junk I love. By not falling into my bad habits, the pounds flew off. I was 164.4 when I decided something had to chance. I was down to 159 in short order. It had been a long time since I’d been in the 150s. Then I began to cheat. I was 161.9 this morning. Last night I went out at 9:15PM to buy strawberry ice cream. I ate the whole damn pint. It was gratuitous. All of my cheating has been gratuitous. I can’t remember the last time I ate because I was hungry. I think I’m eating to fill another void.
