End of the month, nearly, and, hopefully, by the 29th/30th I’ll have taken in just over £1800 for the month. I’m now very busy and shouldn’t take on any more work until I meet my deadlines. One customer (one of a group that I invoice separately) who is terrible at communicating, hasn’t paid me yet although I’ve already received payment from the other side of that company. I’ve chased it again today copying-in the other Group company, who contacted me straight away to say they would get it sorted.
Some frivolous spend but I’m happy with that – yes, it was boots again, but I actually went to a shop and tried them on, and they were comfy, so they don’t need to go back.
So, to the scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 80% (A)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 90% (B)
(*This is where I've sent an invoice/asked for payment)
Therefore, I award myself the following Score/Grade: 90% (B) |

We’re in the middle of the month and I’m on track at the moment. I have set up my standing order again to the Fun & Food account as I just can’t bear the thought of not pulling my weight and Terry really shouldn’t have to carry me any more than he is already. I’m not sure I can really afford it, but it feels the right thing to do. I should remember that I’m in a very fortunate position of having a “pot” to back me up and I’m saving around £250 per month anyway, so I need to accept things the way they are. I don’t change enough but I think that’s a good thing because I don’t feel guilt about what I charge, and I seem to be able to get by on what I earn each month.
I’m waiting for a couple of invoices to be paid and I need to invoice for a couple of jobs I’ve completed. Dad transferred the money my parents owed me for Mum’s surgical knee sleeves, which she says are helping her – that’s a good thing.
I’m toying with the notion of continuing with KTreon or not. Not sure really. I’ll ponder it this month and see how I go.
I’ve not really spent anything on the frivolous front – you could say that I didn’t need to have the Tin Monkee posters printed for our gig at Ousebank House next week– especially as I forgot to add the date – numpty! However, I’m glad I did and actually I added some rather cool date stickers to each poster, which I printed myself.

I feel ok this week about money. I have invoiced everyone I need to and will do ok this month. I’m now able to track my tax using QuickBooks so I know exactly how much I need to find when the year ends on the 5th April.
Nothing much to report on the wasteful spend as I haven’t spent anything really – other than a bit more on fuel when we went to Cardiff, but I haven’t contributed anything much to the house this month. From next month I have re-set up my standing order to the Fun & Food account as I really haven’t got on with the fact that Terry has paid for everything for the last 3 months and, to be honest, I just don’t feel right taking a day off a week either – why? I have no idea – everyone agrees I should, but I just can’t get my head round it. Hey-ho – it’s not their head or their life is it.
Mum and Dad owe me some money for the surgical knee-sleeves but I’m waiting to see if Mum can get on with them before I ask them for the money, as they may have to go back.

Start of a new month and I think I may have started to feel a little bit more in control. Basically, I’ve been feeling like I don’t know what to do next as it’s all felt like a jumble but, I’ve taken a leaf out of my StickK mentally and have now set up a system that works for me – it’s a handwritten to-do list. Simples! It’s what I used to do when I was really busy at my other jobs but, somehow, I didn’t realise that’s what I needed – and now I have one. Just in the nick of time as I now have lots of Dealer jobs on the go so I need to keep on top of them all.
Financially, I’m pretty secure but I did do one frivolous thing – I re-joined KTreon (at £11.40 per month) but I justified this because I no longer subscribe £31 per month to Envanto or Noom which was £49 every two months. So, in effect, I’ve freed up about £50 per month.
Dad paid me for some filters he needed for their vacuum cleaner so that’s good and I’ve just invoiced all my customers who I’ve completed work for.
