We’re in the middle of the month and I’m on track at the moment. I have set up my standing order again to the Fun & Food account as I just can’t bear the thought of not pulling my weight and Terry really shouldn’t have to carry me any more than he is already. I’m not sure I can really afford it, but it feels the right thing to do. I should remember that I’m in a very fortunate position of having a “pot” to back me up and I’m saving around £250 per month anyway, so I need to accept things the way they are. I don’t change enough but I think that’s a good thing because I don’t feel guilt about what I charge, and I seem to be able to get by on what I earn each month.

I’m waiting for a couple of invoices to be paid and I need to invoice for a couple of jobs I’ve completed. Dad transferred the money my parents owed me for Mum’s surgical knee sleeves, which she says are helping her – that’s a good thing.

I’m toying with the notion of continuing with KTreon or not. Not sure really. I’ll ponder it this month and see how I go.

I’ve not really spent anything on the frivolous front – you could say that I didn’t need to have the Tin Monkee posters printed for our gig at Ousebank House next week– especially as I forgot to add the date – numpty! However, I’m glad I did and actually I added some rather cool date stickers to each poster, which I printed myself.
So, to the scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 100% (A)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 80% (B)
(*This is where I've sent an invoice/asked for payment)
Therefore, I award myself the following Score/Grade: 93% (B)

I feel ok this week about money. I have invoiced everyone I need to and will do ok this month. I’m now able to track my tax using QuickBooks so I know exactly how much I need to find when the year ends on the 5th April.

Nothing much to report on the wasteful spend as I haven’t spent anything really – other than a bit more on fuel when we went to Cardiff, but I haven’t contributed anything much to the house this month. From next month I have re-set up my standing order to the Fun & Food account as I really haven’t got on with the fact that Terry has paid for everything for the last 3 months and, to be honest, I just don’t feel right taking a day off a week either – why? I have no idea – everyone agrees I should, but I just can’t get my head round it. Hey-ho – it’s not their head or their life is it.

Mum and Dad owe me some money for the surgical knee-sleeves but I’m waiting to see if Mum can get on with them before I ask them for the money, as they may have to go back.

So, to the scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)

Start of a new month and I think I may have started to feel a little bit more in control. Basically, I’ve been feeling like I don’t know what to do next as it’s all felt like a jumble but, I’ve taken a leaf out of my StickK mentally and have now set up a system that works for me – it’s a handwritten to-do list. Simples! It’s what I used to do when I was really busy at my other jobs but, somehow, I didn’t realise that’s what I needed – and now I have one. Just in the nick of time as I now have lots of Dealer jobs on the go so I need to keep on top of them all.

Financially, I’m pretty secure but I did do one frivolous thing – I re-joined KTreon (at £11.40 per month) but I justified this because I no longer subscribe £31 per month to Envanto or Noom which was £49 every two months. So, in effect, I’ve freed up about £50 per month.

Dad paid me for some filters he needed for their vacuum cleaner so that’s good and I’ve just invoiced all my customers who I’ve completed work for.

So, the scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 90% (B)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 90% (B)

It’s almost the end of February – 1 day to go - so I need to move my salary across. Work has been busy and varied and I know have a few jobs in the pipeline – including the completion of the Eccentric Englishman’s website – although I’ll meet with them first to explain they need to pay me half now and the rest later. I’m not having them mess me about anymore.

The not working on a Friday isn’t really panning out for me, so I’m going to get back to how I was and start paying into the Fun and Food again –bizarrely, it’s quite stressful not contributing to the things we do, but I will still make time for me. Like this week build in my work around exercise (yeah, right! Ha!)

I’ve been a bit frivolous, with toiletries and a couple of clothes items but, as usual, I’m sending something back. I’ve also paid for a medical knee sleeve for Mum on PayPal so it won’t affect my balance yet – also, they’ll pay me back for that through Dad’s on-line bank, so that’s ok. I’ve re-joined KTreon again – but we are going to see her next week in concert, and I feel the need to re-join. I’ve stopped a few other subscriptions so this feels ok.

We’ve had a gig cancelled on the 11th March. For some reason I feel quite bad about it, but can’t put my finger on it. Last week the organiser asked me to put a poster together and I thought it was a bit late in the day. He rang last to say they’re cancelling the event due to only selling 20 tickets – hang on a minute, they booked us months ago and they’ve only started promoting it so I shouldn’t be surprised they’ve not sold enough. Somehow, though, I feel I could have done more if I’d known they were relying on my poster two weeks before the event…..oh well.

Apart from that, nothing really to report – I still need to invoice Elmdale for the work I’ve done for them, Nick Fisher has paid me. From next month I’ll be getting a monthly retainer from PCL Direct and Ar Graff Cymru want me to do some work too. All good stuff.

So, the scores for the past week (70% to pass):
1) Current Account in Credit in its Own Right: 100% (A)
2) Keep Remorseful / Frivolous / Wasteful Spend to a Minimum: 80% (B-)
3) Full Payment by Customers / Family / Band*: 90% (B)
(*This is where I've sent an invoice/asked for payment)
Therefore, I award myself the following Score/Grade: 90% (B)
