It is a great way to escape from reality so I understand why I use them during stressful periods of life, however it truly diminishes the ability to sit with difficult problems and focus. Overall it is pretty rediculous since I am bigger than all these problems, meaning I have solved so many difficult technical challenges in my life, none of these can really beat me so I need to start remembering that and realize there is no need to get wildly stressed and down and feel like I need to escape."View my Commitment

triis11 May 7, 2024, 1:18 PM"Without doing caffine and getting 7.5+ hours of sleep I feel like a completely different person. I feel like a bigger person and can make tasks simpler and less daunting. It feels like a major jump in consciousness and daily living. Generally, if I lived like this for a year I think I would be a much happier person. The hard part is that I would miss the warmth and energy boost of coffee. Or the social aspect of it. I think as long as I don't fall into a period of months to years of daily use I would be ok trying it once a week at most. "View my Commitment

Such as, if you can't play anything else just play the left hand because the right hand melody is covered by the strings. picketfence23 May 3, 2024, 10:30 AM"i practised the other two songs a little after yesterdays report. I felt depressed for a while but then i felt less depressed so i practised Storm. I got it to 108 BPM which is alright progress. This monday is a public holiday so no school and no music B). The other two songs are called 'Night Capers' and 'Sahara Crossing'. Thankfully they're only 3 pages long, whereas storm is 4 pages. Night Capers is easy enough but Sahara crossing is a bit harder. I did C, G and D no1. hanon exercises today as warmup. Finally connecting the trombone tight enough for the bell section to not fall. Yesterday i had my second trombone lesson. it was also my first time in band because my friend convinced me to go. picketfence23 May 2, 2024, 9:23 AM"I spent an hour or two goofing around on youtube. So I downloaded a website block extension which should help. I probably practiced for an hour and half today? First I had to try learn another song, 'From the Start' by Laufey for the jazz group i'm in. Then I had like an hour break watching TV. Then I practiced my first piece from the three, 'Storm'. I need to get it to 208 BPM which is really fast for me. So I'll just be using the metronome, slowly increase speed. I'm at 100 BPM so far. I didn't practice the other two pieces today but maybe later today. It's hard cause I have jazz on Monday which is also when i'm doing strings, piano lessons Tuesday and band on Wednesday when I do trombone. Every two years there's this competition called fanfare and the strings AND orchestra do it, so I'm in two performances. Luckily fanfare is just a day before me and my family go away for a week so its lucky timing. Sorry for the rant guys. I'll make a seperate commitment for my trombone stuff. "View my Commitment
