Eva!!! Thank you so much for the words of support. I don't think I drew every day this week but I drew ALOT so I feel like this commitment has helped me figure out how I work.

Isn't it a great feeling to come to a realization about yourself!? I'm so happy for you that you are discovering a path to yourself that is gracious, flexible, and accepting of who you are. I really enjoy how you are willing to see the best of your circumstances, even if they aren't exactly what you planned. It shows so much maturity (wisdom!) that you are willing to allow for plans to change and to a part of them anyway! Many, many gratz on your continuing journey, and as always thank you so much for sharing your experiences and insights with me! If at anytime you would like to delve a bit, I am here to listen! Best and kindest wishes to you!!

Tracking back to this commitment is showing me some amazing things. For the last two weeks, I've been getting 1 day of drawing done, working on my drawing assignments. I thought my commitment was to work on them every day, but reading back I see that it's not, it's to work on them once a week. Like I am doing. Having the commitment written down is so useful. Even if I don't make the goal, I have been making progress for a couple weeks now.

Had the loveliest experience drawing a cube today. It came out much better than my first attempt, although it took well over an hour. There was a moment where I was still finding my lines where I felt like a cube was actually impossible. Then I got the lines and it looked good. I did the shading, and I broke my pencil for the first time, trying to lay in value on the dark front of the cube. I had to sharpen my pencil on the spot, which took at least half an hour--it was a good hard break. Once I was done, I realized that I had worked hard. It really hit me that I had worked on that cube like other people work at jobs. That my job IS to make the best cube I can. To continue drawing the best I can, to learn to paint the best I can, then to create paintings the best I can. That it is real work. That it is MY work. For the first time ever I feel like I have found a thing I can work at that is for my benefit and the benefit of others.
